Cheating In The Next Room

When we are young, usually between the ages of 15-21, we are young, wild and carefree. It is usually around that time that we start courtin'. For you young folks, that's called dating. And as a mother of 6 teenagers I see it everyday. Today they are in love with this person and two weeks later they got somebody new. They don't think about using protection and so many young people get STI's or for us old folks, STD's. But the biggest problem about this is that as a parent, and I am guilty of this, I'm not pushing abstinence, I'm pushing being safe and that you are too young to be in a relationship. I'm realizing that for many young adults, they see this as a green light to be with whoever they want, and many times they know to use protection, but they don't. And that's where it gets tricky. I've made this mistake with mine, and I have to teach them about monogamy. Because they become adults who sleep around and develop STI's and usually don't know that they have anything. Monogamy is not a bad thing, sharing your life with one person is really in God's plan. But even adults are stupid. I myself can tell you all that I have cheated. And even I was stupid and had unprotected sex and got an STI. Not many people will tell their business like that. But I want you to come to my blog and when you read what I write, know that I come from the heart. SO WHEN YOU CHEATING IN THE NEXT ROOM, please realize that you not just damaging your relationship, you are damaging your body. And your body is a temple. Happy Reading....."Da Diva"

Sandusky: A Sad State Of Affairs

Truly Ironic Don't Ya Think?

So here's what we all know, Jerry Sandusky, the former coach for Penn State's football team, has been accused of sexually molesting several young men during his tenure at the highly regarded college. But there is a lot more to the story that the news is just starting to bring to the light. The district attorney who tried and failed to prosecute Jerry Sandusky in 1998 after reports of sexual abuse emerged, has been missing since 2005 and was declared legally dead in July.
It gets even more interesting though. According to an article in the New York Post, the lawyer that is representing Mr. Sandusky got a teenage girl pregnant over 10 years ago.
It seems to me that sexual perverts are all over the place in this situation. The fact that so many knew or had ideas that this man was sexually assaulting young boys is truly depressing. So many people that are sexual assault victims never tell for this very reason. It's either swept under the rug, or they are just not believed. We all know of that innocent until proven guilty rule, but honestly he looks about as guilty as O.J. Simpson! This is one story that I will continue to follow. Lamar and Khloe Odom In Dallas

By now everyone has heard of that good ole trade made by the Lakers and the Mavericks where Mark Cuban acquired Lamar Odom. Just last night The Mavericks held a pre-season game against OKC Thunder in which Lamar played and Khloe was there in attendance. Let me just get this off my chest. I don't like any of the "Kartrashians" and what they are all about. Their fame is frivolous and I think that they know it. Is Dallas going to welcome them and the publicity that will follow? Of course they are, because it brings attention to Dallas. My question is, "Is it worth it? Rumor has it that the couple is already looking for a house. I suggest Pleasant Grove or Oak Cliff!! LOL, but seriously, Khloe seems to be nice, but it doesn't change the fact that she has/is doing the things that she does for fame. It well be interesting to watch. But it really doesn't matter to me cause I'm a Celtics girl!! LMAO

Is Facebook The Devil?

I've been a member of Facebook since May of 2008 or 2009. In that time, I've reconnected with high school friends. I have even met new and fun people. And, I've met some not so nice people. Facebook keeps changing. Yet a new timeline feature will go into effect on Christmas day. And even though we might fuss and complain, we stay. I myself have deleted my account on more then one occasion, yet I come back. Why? I love socializing and I love seeing posts of my friends who go through similar life situations. But I also notice that the younger crowd has gotten hip to Facebook and for me, that's when things really changed. I use to love the fact that my kids didn't like Facebook, they said it was for old people. I remember when people didn't use it for sexual situations. I remember when people posted positive things or funny things to get you through the day. Now, and even I am guilty of this,we post our marital problems, our family problems. We post our dislike for our baby's fathers, when we got some booty, and we post pictures of everything. Is Facebook the devil? I say no, it's just that the devilish people get all the attention. I say we  take it back, lets post positive things. Let's talk about how we can keep each other lifted up!! Then the devilish people will get bored and hopefully leave!

Christmas Blues As a Struggling Mama

It's that time of year that if you have more than 1 child, you probably dread. Yeah I know the common thoughts of most people. Didn't nobody tell you to have all those kids. But they are taken care of to the best of my abilities. I'm disabled. So I don't make a lot of money. My husband works, but he just doesn't seem to make enough to take care of the bills that we have. No we don't have fancy cars. I drive and old Suburban and he drives a 1970 Ford truck that he inherited. My kids have laptops but they are from school. The basic bills of lights, water, and gas are essential to run a household. When my husband lost his job back in July, we fell way behind and honestly, things got pawned and some things got caught up. But he found a job by August and we are slowly, finally, catching up. But when you know you work hard, and you do the best you can, as a mother you feel inadequate and depressed when you can't get your kids what they want for Christmas. No, it's not about the gifts, it's about Christ. But we also know that we teach our kids about Santa Claus, and until about the ages of 8-10, they believe in him. All I want is for my kids to have a good Christmas, not a fancy one, but at least give them a few things that they have been wanting that I haven't had the chance to provide. Gotta have faith, you never know what can happen in 10 days!!

Do you listen when God speaks?

I had a dream last night that I had died. I had actually saw that "light" that people talk about and I saw some very dark spirits. I came to God and begged him not to take me. Told Him that I had so much more to do. To see my kids and that they needed me. I asked for another chance to get it right. I then gasped for air and woke up screaming.
Now I know a lot of people don't believe in God, or they have lost their faith. We are human, we all get discouraged and wonder if this really is what our lives are about. But to see the sunrise and set every morning. As a mother to give life by giving birth. To see the seasons change, makes me realize that there has to be a higher power. God spoke to me in a powerful way last night. And you better believe, I was listening!!

Feeling Like A Taxi Cab

Seems like every other day, I have to take a kid somewhere. I guess it's to be expected when you have 5 kids at home and a grand kid. If it's not doctor's appointments, it's the store, or over a friend's house. Let's not even get into weekends. Sometimes I wanna throw the keys to my truck in the trash and tell everyone to leave me alone and walk. Sounds cruel doesn't it? Guess what? I know in my heart I'm not the only mama/mom/mother or whateva you let them call you that feels this way. Only way it's gonna change is to teach the older ones to drive and quickly get them their driver's license. But let's keep it real, I can't afford driving lessons, and I have absolutely no patience to teach kids who already think they know it all how to drive. I could get the hubby to teach them, but that would be like asking J.Lo to get back with Diddy! So, taxi cab driver I will continue to be for now!!
